Aparigraha, the non-possessiveness of anything other than you, will reveal the "why" and "how" of all your genmas

January 4, 2011

For all of you who missed this morning's live satsang from Bidadi, here is a jist of what I remembered of this AMAZING, MIND-BLOWING sutra.

Aparigraha is translated in all of the scriptures as non-possessiveness of the outer-world things. Swamiji expands on this translation and he says,
that Aparigraha is the non-possessiveness of anything other than you.

How to dive into aparigraha practically? In your home, whatever you haven't used for the last year, give it away. Get rid of it. Then, when you get
comfortable with this after a while, look at all the things you have
not used in the last 6 months and give them away. After you are
comfortable with this zone, give away everything people are asking you
to give them. After that process is established in you, give up
everything you don't feel is You. Then you will realize, that you will
not be possessive of your body and mind either, slowly you will come to
the point, when you will see clearly, that you will unclutch from you
body and mind also and it will lead you to illumination, to
enlightenment.

There are so many aspects of aparigraha we can talk about.

Let us start with the possessiveness of our body. When we don't possess our body, when we leave it alone without restricting or holding onto it in
any way, the body simply aligns itself with the cosmos. It's like
magnets. When you have random magnets on the ground and cover them with a
thick blanket, they will be scattered on the ground chaotically, but as
soon as you lift the blanket, they will align themselves in a perfect
needle immediately. Just like that, the possessiveness of our body is
the thick blanket that restricts our body from being healthy. When we
relax from the body for at least 21 seconds, in the next 21 minutes the
body will start excreting everything out, the stomach and bowels will
start emptying themselves, cleaning themselves and excreting everything
the body doesn’t need and it will shift into tremendous feeling of
health, tremendous energy and a whole new feeling of wellness. The
possessiveness of our body is directly connected with our digestive
system. Whoever suffers with liver or digestive problems, be very clear,
you are possessive of your body.

The possessiveness of our body keeps our bodies sick; we are possessive of our illnesses. Once we relax from the body a whole new wave of health will manifest in our
body, because the body will have a chance to align itself with the
cosmos, just like the magnets on the ground, it will come into alignment
with its natural state of health and well being.

Let’s talk about genmas now. Genma si often translated as one life or incarnation, but Swamiji declared that genma is not only connected to
life in one body, he says that we are living multiple genmas in our
life, each moment there is a different genma we are in.

When we are completely based on our past, when in our mind we are in the past,we are stuck in the mooladhara chakra, in the greed of having more
of our past.

When we are living only in future, that is fear of future, the Swadishtana chakra.

When our past overlaps into the future, that is worry, Manipuraka chakra.

When the future overlaps into the past, we feel something is or will be missing, that is attention need, the Anahata chakra.

When our present moment is being battered by our past and our future, you are stuck in the Vishudhi.

Being in pure present is the Anya.

Pure presence is Sahasrara.

All of these situations/states of mind are different genmas. See for yourself, where are you at each moment of your life? Which genma are you
living right now? Then try to progress higher up, consciously push
yourself up to the higher and higher chakras, don’t let yourself back
fall down. Push yourself into the present moment, unattached by the past
nor the future or any mixture of it and slowly you will become pure
presence. Just Being. Pure presence is enlightenment, illumination.

The most amazing thing is that in each chakra we can have only 21 samskaras, unfulfilled karmas, which when they get exhausted, all the
sanchita karma automatically disappears. Each unfulfilled action of ours
creates karma forces us to come to the same energy space again and
again until it is exhausted. So be compliant with the present moment and
complete the karma fully with awareness. Go into the desire, into the
karma fully without creating more of the same desires thinking that
nobody will notice. This will create a karma bandha - karmic belt which
will force you to come back again and again until you are free of them.
Keep complying and completing each karma in each chakra and you will
exhaust all the prarabdha karma and the sanchita will disappear
immediately.

So establish yourself in aparigraha, the non–possessiveness of anything other than you and the "how" and "why" of all your genmas will be revealed to you. Keep complying and completing
the present and you will become pure presence.

Swamiji origiinally planned to talk on 2 or 3 sutras today, but after delivering this sutra, he said, he does not want to jam our machines (our brains)
:))

Swamiji felt really content after delivering this sutra today, of course, do watch the video when it becomes available and your mind will be just blown away. He said, that like a woman, who
after she delivers a baby is relaxed and content, she becomes a mother,
just like that, after delivering these great truths today, Swamiji felt
an amazing contentment. Only in those moments a man becomes and
Incarnation.

Swamiji’s blessings to achieve, experience, live, radiate and share the eternal bliss, Nithyananda, are with all of usl! Keep radiating!
