Paramahamsa Nithyananda’s 34th Jayanthi (birthday as per Vedic calendar) celebrations on 29th December in his birthplace Tiruvannamalai exceeded all expectations by drawing a crowd of over 25,000 from all over the country and overseas.
Tiruvannamalai is famous for the sacred Arunachala hill and the splendidly built 8th century Arunachaleshwara Temple. Earlier a small temple town of Tamil Nadu, Tiruvannamalai found its place on the international map when Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi made it his adopted home.
Born and raised in this spiritually charged pilgrimage spot, Nithyananda shares a deep connection with Arunachala and the Arunachaleshwara Temple, where he spent many of his childhood hours in worship and meditation. For many years now, it has been his custom to celebrate his Jayanthi at Tiruvannamalai every year, with a host of spiritual and social activities.
